Websites for artists

Websites for artists

Portfolios and galleries where the work leads and the website gets out of the way. Restrained design, images shown as they should be, and editing so easy you post the next exhibition yourself.

Who is it for?

For visual artists, painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators and musicians who need a serious showcase of their work: for galleries, curators, press and collectors. A site of your own, away from social media, where your work is presented with the care it deserves and without the noise of a feed. It's a niche we know well and enjoy working in.

Your work's colour on screen: what's possible and what isn't

A screen is not a canvas, and it's worth knowing that before you put your work online. Every monitor and phone shows colour a little differently, and no screen reproduces a pigment the way you see it in the studio. What we can do is get the most out of it: we start from well-made photographs, with neutral light and calibrated colour, and optimise them to load fast without dulling the tones or losing the detail. We look after the background, the enlarged view and the contrast so the eye goes to the piece. If you give us quality files, the difference is huge. And we're honest: to truly judge an original no screen replaces seeing it in person, but a good website opens the door to them wanting to.

Your website as an archive, not a feed

Instagram is good for the day-to-day, but it isn't yours and it isn't an archive. You don't control the order, the cropping of the images or how long a work stays visible before the feed buries it. A gallery, a curator or a journalist looking you up in earnest expects your own website: your work ordered by series, with a page per piece (title, year, medium, dimensions), your statement, your biography, exhibitions and press. It's a permanent place that tells your whole trajectory, not the last nine posts. We build it so you can add a work or an exhibition yourself, depending on no one. Social draws people in; your website convinces and stays. Ideally you have both, each in its role.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't Instagram enough?

Instagram is a good daily showcase, but it isn't yours: you don't control the order, the image cropping or the algorithm, and a gallery or curator expects your own website with your work well presented. Ideally you have both: social for the day-to-day and your site as a serious, permanent archive.

How do the artwork images look?

With the greatest care possible within the web. We optimise each image to load fast while keeping colour and detail, with an enlarged view and good background treatment. If you give us quality files, the work will look as it deserves.

Can I sell my work from the website?

Yes, if you want. We add a shop for originals, editions or prints with secure payment. We can also leave it as a portfolio only and add selling later, without redoing anything.

Will I be able to add new work myself?

That's the idea. We build the site so you can upload a piece, a series or an exhibition yourself, in a couple of clicks. We train you so you don't have to call us every time you make something new.

What if I'm a musician or work in another discipline?

We work with artists across disciplines: music, illustration, photography, sculpture. The approach is the same (put your work first) while adapting the site to your medium, whether a discography, a project portfolio or a gallery of pieces.

Shall we give your work a home?

Show us your work and we'll propose the site that presents it as it deserves.
